Okay, I'm a blogger, I admit it. I'm sure there are lots of you out there who also maintain a personal blog outside of what is offered through this charity site. If you happen to use Blogger, it's pretty easy to add a linkable photo to your personal donation page.
First, google for an appropriate image. I searched for 'ride to conquer cancer british columbia' and then switched to the Images tab in google (to do an image search.) From there I found several samples of the official logo. I chose the vertical one instead of the horizontal one simply because it fit better, but it's your choice.
Then save it as a file to your computer. This is important as it isn't very nice to hotlink to someone's image without permission. Also, check to make sure that the fine print is actually correct - there are rides in several provinces now. That's why I included BC in the search. At first I was finding Alberta versions. I found one that was 199x199 pixels that fit nicely.
Now that you have an image to use, go to the Ride to Conquer Cancer site, click on the donate link and search out your personal page. Go to that page, so that you see the Sponsor <Rider> yellow button. Be sure to NOT log in for this. You want the link that will work for others and it will be different if you are logged in. Okay, once there, copy that URL because you will need it later.
Now it's time to log into blogger, like you would normally. You want to Customize your blog and assuming you use one of the newer templates, this should be pretty easy. Select the Layout tab and then click on Add a Gadget. A popup will appear and you should be viewing the Basic gadgets. Scroll down about halfway and choose the Picture gadget.
A new popup appears, called Configure Image. Fill in the Title, paste in the copied URL in the Link field and upload the googled image from your computer. I decided to leave the Caption blank since the image has all the info needed anyway. Click Save to close this popup window and then Save again on the edit blog page. That should be it - go check out your updated blog and test the link to make sure it goes to your personal page. This will be the easiest way for people to find where to donate to your ride.
Hope this helps!
