I just wanted to send out an invite to a fundraising event THIS WEEKEND. My team "From Scrubs to Spandex" (yup we are all nurses!) is hosting 'The GREAT Skate!' Skating party at Kitsilano Arena (2690 Larch St). It will be on Sunday March 15th from 12:45-2:45. We are running our own concession as well as home baked goodies, there will be a 50/50 Draw and some exciting door prizes including 2 free lift tickets to Whistler Blackcomb, gift certificates from Sophies, Zulu Records, Spa Utopia, Duthie Books, Ciniplex and some great gifts from Dizzy Cycles! Skate rentals are available and tickets will be sold either in advance or at the door, $10 for adult/$5 for kids (including skate rental), or $7.50 for adults/$2.50 for kids if you have your own skates. Bring a pocketful of change for the bake sale too. It would be fantastic if other Ride participants came out and brought friends and family! This would also be a great opportunity to meet other riders in the area (including our team!) and a chance to plan some training rides.
