I am new to the ride this year and am happy to go to Seattle. I am also okay with not knowing the route ahead of time - although that would be nice. What I REALLY need is a ballpark - just a ballpark - of the total kilometers for the route. Potential team members want to know - if they knew I think they could deal with it. I wouldn't hold anyone to the exact distance but being 100km off in my estimate would be very discouraging and unnecessary. Can anyone help with this? Many thanks, Tracy
Thanks so much for replying - that makes sense to me. I can see the first stretch to lunch on day 1 seems long so I will be ready for that. So nice to here from you experieced ones - many thanks!
As long as the first stint is till lunch, they provided snacks and Gatorade along the way. Any time that you might have become a tad undernourished they had something for you, fruit, energy bars even pretzels.
Fuel makes such a huge difference - just learning what works and what does not as the rides get longer!! Many thanks for the information - it really helps me prepare.
