Is anyone willing to share their ride data from a Garmin or similar cycling computer? I am curious to know what the elevation gains/losses were in each day (especially the climbing on day 2).
Thanks for posting your ride data. I am surprised by the day 2 statistics. Maybe I don't understand how to interpret them. I thought there was a lot of climbing and big hills in day 2 compared to day 1 but your ride data seems to say there was more elevation gain on day 1 than day 2. I guess it just felt like we did a lot more climbing because we were tired.
yeah, for some reason it seemed to me that the second to last leg was almost all climbing, and steep climbing. Maybe on day 1 it was more gain, but was gradual.
Garmins have been known to be way off on elevation though.

Yeah, don't take my data for being 100% accurate especially on the altitude. It was captured using my BlackBerry. If you download the GPX file and upload to Google Earth, you can play around with the various altitude differences on the map by clicking on the waypoints.
This is my first year of doing the ride and I was worried that I was not doing enough hills. My two staple rides are 60 km and 524 m and 70 km and 600 m.
Interpreting ride data can be a challenge. While the elevation gain/loss does not seem to be that much of a challenge, what I remember from last year was that there was about 14 km of climbing on day 2 around the 85 km mark. In looking through this data I found it was pretty close to my recollection. According to the data the long set of climbing that I remember falls between 89 km and 105 km mark. As I recall it was a cold, wet day and with day 1 already complete and almost 85-90 km of day 2 done those hills seemed to go on forever. But one persons perspective is not the same as another's. What is worth being aware of is to plan for a good climb through and out of Bellingham (appears to be about 9 km of climbing) on day 1 and a good set of climbs on day 2 around the 89 - 105 km mark.
Not sure if anyone has noticed but this year on the RTCC website, not only do they provide the map for the Ride, there is a link for the elevation details. Quite helpful especially to help plan/expect the hills and save something in reserve for when they come up.
Looking forward to the Ride! Hoping for good weather.
Ya the good Folks @RTCC pointed me to that. It is very helpfull for planning and I am very pleased because the elevation I am training on, exceeds what is involved in the ride.
Although my rides are shorter than the actual, I am hoping the greater elevation translates well over distance.
Good luck with the ride! It would be great to hear how it went for you and how the actual ride compared to the impressions from the ride/elevation data. I encourage you to provide your thoughts/feedback on here after the ride is over. I for one would look forward to hearing what you thought.
