I'm just wondering what kind of training schedule everyone has.... I've been riding (indoors) one day on, one day off. I'm up to 15km one ride, 25km the next. How much is everyone else doing? What other "cross training" activities are people doing? I want to make sure I'm keeping up and doing enough....
Those distances are about what I have been doing also. However I usually ride outdoors which does make a big difference. For one, it gets you used to riding on the road. Secondly, doing the same ride twice can be very different simply because of the weather. Today's ride had a lot of wind for example. Just remember that 25 km is the average distance between drink and feeding stations. As we learn more about the route we will get a better idea of what to expect for hills
I've been going to the gym every other day working on cardio and leg strength. I try to get a ride in at least once a week and do 40 - 50 K when I do. Now that we have more day light in the evenings I hope to increase my riding to 3 or 4 a week. If anyone is interested in doing some training rides please let me know. I live out in Maple Ridge and there are some great routes to ride out here or could meet up anywhere in the lower mainland.
