Saturday June 6 - 130km Training Ride - Interested In Coming Along? **UPDATED***

G'day again! This weekend I'm going to extend my normal 100k training ride to 130k and am looking for a riding buddy...or two, or three...you get the idea. The ride will start and finish at the South Surrey Park & Ride. Over 100k, I average 25km/h, normally cruising at about 30k on flats. To see if this ride may suit you, check it out at http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/South-Surrey-Birch-Bay-Lummi-Island-Close-to-Ferndale-South-Surr Drop be a line if you wanna go cruisin'. Cheers!

Now I know my schedule a little better, I will be leaving from the Park & Ride at 11:00am Saturday.  PM me if you plan on coming so I know what to expect.

Cheers!

T

Hey there,

This could be fun and a good acid test of for the ride and the border crossing.  What time do you think you are going to start?

G'day, N!

I've sent an Email to you, but for the benefit of others who may be interested, I'm expecting to leave from the South Surrey Park And Ride about 10:00am.

I'm aiming for an average speed across the entire distance (about 130k) of between 20 - 23km/h, and plan on cruising on flats at somewhere between 25-30km/h.

For details about the course, check out my "OPEN INVITIATION" post from last week - it's the same ride but with an extra 30k added in just past the half-way mark.

I will be stopping at least once (about 40k) for 10-15 minutes and possibly once again about 90-100k.

For those who may want to come but expect to be riding slower, I do have some 'step-by-step' guides outlining primary turns so can provide those for individual riders...or just check out the route on bikely.com (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/South-Surrey-Birch-Bay-Lummi-Island-Close-to-Ferndale-South-Surr) and check out the route yourself.  SOUTHBOUND is on the LEFT, NORTHBOUND is on the right.

Cheers!
