Route Mapping Website?

Can anyone recommend a good website to record training ride routes?  I tried bikely.com but ran into some problems with the site so I am not sure whether to stay there or go somewhere else.  In particular I am looking for something that maps accurately, is easy to use and easy to print from without pages of banner ads.

I have been coming up with some good longer distance training rides lately which I would like to share but as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and in the case of some of my routes, it would take that many words.

Have you tried the Cycling Route Planner?... http://www.cyclevancouver.ubc.ca/cv.aspx.

I quite like this for planning trips around the city; I haven't used it yet for training rides, but could see it being useful for keeping groups on designated bike routes in the city.

I will be planning twice weekly training rides come Spring... if you're interested in joining us as a member of the team or as a training partner (team OvCaRe 2010) please email me at ngalebccancer.bc.ca.

Have you looked at Google Maps? You can mark a route and save a map easily with GM. You can also set the access to public so that others can read your route.

Try mapmyrid.com. I don't know how it prints out but it gives lots of options, little maps, distances and ratings.

Hope it helps! Happy riding!

I use allsportgps (www.allsportgps.com) which works on the Blackberry/iPhone/Android.  You can do numerous things like create a route on the website and upload it to your phone, or just ride and it will record your route automatically and keep track of average speed, time, etc.  Pretty awesome little program!  I have a bicycle mount for my Blackberry so I can keep tabs on my progress.  Good thing there's no law about using handheld devices on bicycles!
