First timers, my daughter and I are both riding in 2010, we are just starting our training. Not alot of riding experience but we are both athletic. Anyone else in the area wanting to put together some training rides or form a Mission Team.
I am working on organizing some training rides in the Abbotsford area. I actually live in Aldergrove, but was thinking of riding near the Abbotsford airport. Another option would be the Matsqui area which is a little closer to Mission.
I was thinking Saturday mornings, not sure how early though. I know some other "new" riders (triathletes) who might be interested as well.
We could plan something for January 30th if you want???
I ride a road bike- how about you? I have some riding experience and would be happy to "go slow" and share my experience with anyone interested.
Hi Jeff, I would difinately be interested in a ride but I will be up at Apex from the 29-31. I have not ridden a road bike in many years but when I was younger it was my main mode of transportation. I use to ride from Guildford to WhiteRock all the time. I just purchased two new road bikes for my daughter and myself for this ride so we are reading to go.
We just got started so I don't really want to put my daughter on the busy roads yet, we have been riding up in Mission, lots of hills but once your up on Cherry Hill your fairly flat.
Sounds good, Vic. I hear your concerns about busy roads. I am not familiar with the Mission area though. You are welcome to send me an e-mail at the following address if you wish to set something up:
Also from Mission...training for 2010 ride... Mission has too many hills, Trans Canada Trail is good along dykes, Clayburn Village, no crazy traffic. Minnekhada, Belcarra, All time fave is the Po Co Trail, or over to island...Galloping Goose from Sooke to Ferry ( can be done in one day) Hope this all helps..enjoy the scenery along the way, stay off busy roads if you can.
