Enbridge is the Corporation that is proposing the worst environmental project possible for BC. The pipeline across BC that carries Tarsands crude oil to be loaded on tankers that carry the oil along the BC coast from an ocean terminal. The risk of a major oil spill is far to great possibility and the potential damage from such an event is outstrips the possible benefit. Enbridge also was responsible for the major spill in the Eastern US last summer and may more spills, too. I cannot support the BC Cancer Foundation this year as I feel that they have been bought out and sold their principles. I urge you to make them aware of your feelings, too.
Enbridge may be sponsoring this, but they are not dictating where the money goes. It is still a necessary evil to have such relationships to ensure we get the best bang for our fundraising dollar. Set aside your stance on Enbridge, remember who you are really riding for - those who have suffered and lost, or those who won, in their battle against cancer. If possible, believe that the more involved means the lesser need for oil as we all take to our bikes and RIDE!
As far as the route goes, we are all headed south so worry not about the route!!
